[SOLVED]picture icon during teamsay

I was just wondering if anyone knew how to do this
When some peolpe use teamsay they have a custom icon or even when the autotaunts go on theres a custom icon.
Didnt know if anyone knew how to do this or if this is somethin dled in different servers.

This is something built into the skin you wear in the game. I know the male member and guest skin does not work sometimes. It is on my to do list.

Much time ago I had the same idea to show my personal image on "say" command during matches and yes, I did it  but never tested for long time, so I don't know if there are any drawbacks.
You have to edit a .PCX graphic file present in a built in .UTX texture file (that time I've used Photoshop). You have to resize correctly and save your photo into PCX format and then insert the file into the UTX using a software for managing UT textures.
Now I don't remember all because it was a quick experiment.
I can say more later, I've to find my docs and files. If I find them, I can send you also the files so you can look at them.
Please, don't laugh for the photo you will see

That will work fine for single player but on the server the skin has to be hosted. We to do away with personal skins a while back because of the time and amount of packages. |

Yes, I worked on a UT built-in texture for a quick try, I think it was "FCommandoSkins.utx". It seemed working pretty good on local, but never tested it in LAN: I suppose I should copy that modified texture also on other PCs wired in LAN to let other players see the new icon pictures. If it works, it would be cheerful for a LAN party.
By the way, I never went deep into hosted skins.
Next weekend I'll try to take a look at this. If I find something interesting, I will report it on the forum |
